Bringers of fertility, above and below

A mourning of the thread that stitched the seed between my teeth with subterraneous wisdoms beneath.

This piece is an ode to honey bees and fungi, understood as messengers from the underworld whose alchemical transmutations of earthly matters sustain fertile soils and ecosystems within the organic matrix. In a present shaped by intensive monoculture and genetically modified crop farming, I contemplate the greater aliveness of our foods if more of what we consumed were still connected to the mycelial networks.
